ale

We finished Hispanic Heritage Month in K-12 art by exploring the art of alebrijes, the beautiful, hand-crafted figurines originally created in the 1930s by Mexican artist Pedro Linares, but more recently made famous by the movie Coco.

Elementary students illustrated their own unique alebrijes using shapes and patterns to bring the animals to life, and middle and high school students spent last week creating 3D alebrijes using polymer clay, paint, and a lot of patience!

Alebrijes are on display in the commons; take a look the next time you visit the school!
