Interim Superintendent and Superintendent for Centennial School District R-1, San Luis, Colorado

Interim Superintendent Position:

The Centennial School District Board of Education in San Luis, Colorado, is seeking an interim superintendent for the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year.  

 McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development is assisting the board of education in identifying and screening the candidates.  

The Qualifications:

 The candidate must have the experience, skills, and abilities essential for leading a small, rural school district.  

Salary: $8,750 per month paid per diem based on days worked

Superintendent Position

The Centennial School District Board of Education in San Luis, Colorado, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent.  The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1, 2025. 

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the board of education in identifying and screening the candidates. 

The Qualifications 

  The candidate must have the experience, skills, and abilities essential for leading a small, rural school district. The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. 

 The Board of Education seeks an experienced educational leader who:

  • Demonstrates thoughtful leadership and the ability to navigate complex issues.

  • Is visionary and innovative, and not afraid to take risks.

  • Understands Colorado school finance, law, and education policy.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills.

  • Models effective use of technology.

  • Actively engages in the community and is both approachable and personable.

Additional Requirements: 

  • Colorado administrative licensure preferred

Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000 plus housing allowance and full family benefits

Search Timeline: 

  • Closing date for applications: February 28, 2025 (11:59 p.m. central time) 

  • Selection of Finalists: March 12, 2025

  • Interviews with the Board of Education: March 24, 2025

  • Selection of new Superintendent: TBD
